How long does the Yamaha DXR12 mkII last on battery power?
This speaker runs on mains power and is not battery-operated. For mobile use, we recommend one of our battery-powered models, such as the Soundboks Go or the JBL PartyBox series.
What is the range of the Yamaha DXR12 mkII for outdoor events?
In a clear line of sight and calm weather, the Yamaha DXR12 mkII projects sound about 30 to 50 meters, depending on volume. For larger open-air areas, we recommend a second unit as a delay speaker, set with a time offset. For events with over 300 guests, it is worth upgrading to a full PA system.
What are my setup options?
The Yamaha DXR12 mkII can be placed on the floor, on a stand (35 mm speaker stand), or laid flat as a floor monitor. A suitable stand is included in the rental if you need an elevated setup for the dance floor.
Can I link multiple Yamaha DXR12 mkII speakers?
Yes, multiple devices can be connected either via cable link (Audio Out > Audio In) or, on some models, wirelessly via the Bluetooth True Stereo function. This lets you build your setup for the dance floor, garden, and reception area without cables running across the venue.
How many speakers do I need for my event?
Rule of thumb: A mono setup with 1 speaker is sufficient for up to 50 people; for 50–150 guests, we recommend a stereo pair; for 150–300 guests, add a subwoofer for low frequencies. For over 300 people, it is time for a proper PA system. You can put together the right setup in our configurator when booking.
Is the Yamaha DXR12 mkII weatherproof?
The Yamaha DXR12 mkII is IP43-rated or better against splashing water and can withstand light drizzle. In heavier rain, we recommend a protective cover or placing it under a tent roof. For completely unprotected outdoor setups, Renty offers special IP65-rated outdoor speakers.
