Renty rents out fog machines, low-fog, snow, bubble, and cold spark machines starting at €39.90 per day, including consumables. You can book online and pick up for free, or have the equipment delivered and set up for you.
Our rental inventory includes fog machines, low-fog machines, snow machines, bubble machines, and cold spark machines, available for daily rental with transparent online pricing. All units run on a standard power outlet and fit in a passenger car. The fog machine is a classic for the dance floor, while cold sparks and low fog are perfect for highlighting a specific moment, such as at a wedding, corporate event, or trade show.
You can pick up your equipment for free and receive a briefing, or opt for delivery and setup by one of our service staff. Outdoors, even a light breeze will disperse the fog, and low fog requires ice or water. Any other site-specific requirements can be found on the page for each individual effect. You can find details on how the booking process works in our rental guide.
Three questions, and then the type is determined. The guide never suggests a single device, but rather the type of effect that suits your evening. You then decide which specific model is available on the effect's page.
Special effects are divided into five categories, each with its own page, prices, and availability at your location. An effect that runs throughout the evening combined with one that highlights a specific moment has the greatest impact. Lasers, stage pyrotechnics, and fireworks are not part of our range.
A fog machine fills the room so that the beams of the lighting equipment become visible at all. A hazer creates a fine, even mist throughout the evening, while a vertical fog machine shoots a column straight up. Check with your venue beforehand to see if there are smoke detectors in the room. All models are listed under Fog Machines.
Low-lying fog stays on the ground instead of rising, turning the dance floor into a cloud. It is available with an ice chamber or ultrasonic technology. The lead time is crucial: the machine must be running before the couple enters the floor. You can find the devices under Low-lying Fog Machines.
Artificial snow made of foam falls as light flakes from above and also works outdoors in the cold, such as at a Christmas market. Bubbles are the only effect that remains visible in daylight, whether clear or filled with fog. Both can be found under Snow Machines and Bubble Machines.
The spark fountain creates a moment at the exact second you need it, for example during an entrance, a stage performance, or a countdown. It uses titanium granules instead of pyrotechnics. What you need to clarify with your venue can be found under Cold Spark Machines.
Prices start at €39.90 per day; the spark fountain is by far the most expensive type. A rental day is a full 24 hours from the time of pickup, not a calendar day. Day 1 is charged at the base price, and each additional day is 15% of that, meaning the effective daily rate decreases the longer you rent.
The table shows the lowest starting price for each type of effect. Within each category, there are several models with their own prices, which can be found on the respective page. You can find the complete pricing policy with a calculation example under Prices.
You pick up the equipment from the location in your city and set it up yourself. Everything is prepared for plug-and-play, and there is a video tutorial for every device.

We bring the equipment to your venue and pick it up again after the event. You can handle the connection and setup yourself; every device is prepared for it.

We set up the equipment on-site, handle the cabling, configure the sound and lighting, and dismantle everything after the event. You receive a fully configured system ready to go.

A technician stays on-site during the event, responds to changes in the schedule, and handles the teardown afterward. The safest option for speeches and presentations.

What effect equipment is available to choose from?
Fog machines, low-lying fog machines, snow machines, bubble machines, and cold spark machines. Each type has its own page with available models, prices, and technical specifications. Lasers, large-scale stage pyrotechnics, and fireworks are not included.
Which effect is right for a wedding?
Low-lying fog for the first dance, because it stays on the floor and makes it look like the couple is dancing on clouds. A cold spark machine for the grand entrance or the cake cutting, because it triggers at the exact second you need it. Bubbles for an outdoor ceremony during the day, as they are the only effect that remains visible in daylight.
How much does special effects equipment cost for an evening?
Starting at €39.90 per day for fog, low-lying fog, and snow; from €49.90 for bubbles; and from €149 for a cold spark machine. All prices are gross and include consumables. The first day is charged at the base price, and each additional 24-hour period is 15% of that.
Do you need a permit for special effects equipment?
You do not need official permits for fog, low-lying fog, snow, or bubbles, but you do need the consent of the venue. Information regarding cold sparks can be found under the cold spark machine section.
Do effect machines trigger smoke detectors?
Fog, haze, and low-lying fog can trigger optical smoke detectors because they cannot distinguish between these types of fog and smoke. Snow, bubbles, and cold sparks generally do not. Always clear the use of these effects with the venue beforehand; you can find more details in the fog machine section.
How do you find out if a device is available for your date?
Use the catalog on the page for each specific effect. Simply enter your city and the date to see immediately what is available during that period. You don't need to send an email inquiry for this.
Can you combine multiple effects?
Yes, it makes sense primarily when combining a continuous effect with a single moment—for example, fog throughout the evening and sparks for the entrance. Two area effects used simultaneously tend to cancel each other out rather than enhance one another. Each device requires its own dedicated power outlet.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. Rentals are deposit-free, and every booking is covered by all-risk insurance. The deductible is a maximum of €250 per product.
Weddings are the most common occasion for bookings, and they follow a set schedule. This makes it almost self-evident where a specific effect belongs. For the entrance into the venue or the cutting of the cake, a short, punchy moment works best. For the first dance, the opposite is true: something that lingers and flows with the movement.
The lead time is frequently underestimated. A low-lying fog machine with an ice chamber must be running before the couple steps onto the floor; otherwise, the cloud won't be ready until the dance is half over. Coordinating the schedule with the DJ in advance helps avoid this exact mistake.
How the day flows from the ceremony to the midnight surprise is outlined in the Wedding Overview.

The low-lying fog should already be in place before the couple enters the floor. This timing is exactly what makes the visual impact.
