What applications is the Audient EVO 8 suitable for?
The EVO 8 is the perfect choice whenever you need to record multiple microphones cleanly at the same time.
It is ideal for podcast panels, live streams, interviews, and band recordings. With four microphone channels, you can record an entire conversation separately, so you don't have to isolate speakers later on.
How many microphones can I connect at the same time?
Up to four microphones simultaneously, each with its own phantom power.
The EVO 8 features four combo jacks where you can plug in either XLR microphones or line-level signals. The 48V phantom power can be switched on individually for each channel, allowing you to use dynamic and condenser microphones at the same time.
What does the Smartgain function do?
Smartgain automatically sets your recording levels, so you don't have to adjust gain knobs manually.
Just press the green button, play or speak your loudest part, and the interface will set the perfect level for all active channels. It takes less than 20 seconds and is especially useful if you are hosting and recording at the same time and don't have time for fine-tuning.
Does the EVO 8 require a power supply?
No, the EVO 8 is powered entirely via USB-C.
There is no need for a separate power supply, which makes the interface highly portable. Important: You need a USB-C to USB-C connection to use all four microphone channels simultaneously. If you connect the interface to an older laptop via USB-A, two channels will be available.
Can I use it to record guitar or bass?
Yes, the EVO 8 has a dedicated JFET instrument input.
You can plug your guitar or bass in directly using a standard jack cable; you don't need an extra DI box. The JFET circuit adds a touch of warmth to the signal, similar to classic amp inputs.
What accessories are included with the rental?
The rental includes the Audient EVO 8 and the corresponding USB-C cable.
Microphones, microphone cables, stands, and headphones are not included as standard, but you can add them to your booking directly at checkout. Your Renty contact person can put together a complete podcast or recording kit for you upon request.
