How long does the Mackie Thump 212XT last on battery power?
This speaker runs on mains power and is not battery-operated. For mobile use, we recommend one of our battery-powered models, such as the Soundboks Go or the JBL PartyBox series.
What is the range of the Mackie Thump 212XT at outdoor events?
In a direct line of sight and calm wind conditions, the Mackie Thump 212XT carries sound about 30 to 50 meters, depending on the volume. For larger open-air areas, we recommend a second unit as a delay speaker, set with a time delay. For events with over 300 guests, it is worth upgrading to a complete PA system.
How do I connect music to the Mackie Thump 212XT?
The Mackie Thump 212XT offers Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless streaming from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Additionally, there are classic AUX, RCA, and XLR inputs for a DJ controller, mixer, or wired setup. Bluetooth connections typically remain stable up to 10 meters.
Can I plug a microphone and instrument in directly?
Yes, the Mackie Thump 212XT has multiple inputs with a built-in preamplifier. This allows you to plug in a dynamic microphone (XLR) or an acoustic guitar (jack) directly, without an external mixer. For more than 2 microphones at once, we recommend an additional mixing console.
Can I link multiple Mackie Thump 212XT speakers?
Yes, multiple devices can be connected either via cable link (Audio Out > Audio In) or, on some models, wirelessly via the Bluetooth True Stereo function. This lets you build your setup for the dance floor, garden, and reception area without cables running across the venue.
How many speakers do I need for my event?
Rule of thumb: A mono setup with 1 speaker is sufficient for up to 50 people; for 50–150 guests, we recommend a stereo pair; for 150–300 guests, add a subwoofer for low frequencies. For over 300 people, it is time for a proper PA system. You can put together the right setup in our configurator when booking.
