Is the Mackie DRM 18S sufficient for a live band?
This system is sufficient for acoustic bands (solo artists, acoustic duos, small classical trios). For a 4-5 piece cover band with drums, electric bass, and electric guitar, it is worth adding an extra subwoofer for more bass impact or upgrading to a larger PA system. Feel free to contact us directly with your specific band setup.
How many people can the Mackie DRM 18S accommodate?
The Mackie DRM 18S is designed for events with up to 250 guests. It is perfect for weddings, large corporate parties, town festivals, and live band performances. For significantly larger crowds, we recommend expanding the system with an additional subwoofer or a second pair of tops.
How do I connect a microphone to the Mackie DRM 18S?
You should connect via a mixer: microphone → mixer (XLR input) → PA (XLR out from master). Connecting directly to the tops only works if the model has a mic input with a preamplifier (which is rare). For classic wedding speeches, we recommend a wireless microphone plus a 4-channel mixer as a complete set from Renty.
What is included with the Mackie DRM 18S?
The rental includes 2 tops, 1 or 2 subwoofers, all necessary connection cables (XLR and PowerCON), speaker poles for the tops, and an illustrated setup guide. Depending on the model, stands are either included or available as an optional add-on.
How much does the Mackie DRM 18S cost including setup by a Renty staff member?
The Renty staff service costs 59 euros per hour. For a typical PA system, expect 1 hour for setup and 1 hour for teardown, which is approximately 98 euros in additional costs on top of the rental price. For larger setups or locations with difficult access, it may be slightly more.
Can I use the Mackie DRM 18S outdoors?
The system works perfectly in dry outdoor settings. In rain or damp conditions, we recommend using weatherproof covers or setting up under a tent canopy. For outdoor festival or open-air events, you will also need wind protection for the tops to prevent the bass from being carried away.
