1. Setting up the HK Audio Polar 12 (00:00)

Unboxing and inspection

• Remove all transport packaging and check that the column elements (top section), the sub-module, and all cables are present. For maximum safety during transport and setup, check all connections and housings for damage.

Assembling the column

• First, insert the middle section into the subwoofer, then attach the top element. The included spacer can be used for optimal column height.
• Ensure that the elements are securely locked in place. The mid-high unit is the central element of the system and ensures balanced sound reproduction.

Power connection

• Connect the HK Audio Polar 12 to a suitable power source.
• Switch the system on using the power switch.

Tip: Ensure the surface is stable so the column system does not wobble.

2. Connecting speakers via Bluetooth (00:39)

Activating Bluetooth mode

• Activate Bluetooth mode on the HK Audio Polar 12. On some devices, you will find this button directly next to the inputs or in a small menu.
• With Bluetooth audio, you can stream music or other audio signals wirelessly in high quality, enjoying maximum flexibility when using the system.

Pairing a mobile device or laptop

• Turn on the Bluetooth function on your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
• Search for available devices and select “HK Audio Polar 12” (or a similar name).
• During operation, you can conveniently charge your mobile device via the integrated USB-C port.

Confirming the connection

• A short beep or an indicator light confirms successful pairing.

Tip: For larger events, you can connect multiple Bluetooth speakers by either pairing a second column (see next chapter) or daisy-chaining additional devices.

3. Alternative audio sources (01:06)

AUX / Jack

Use the 3.5 mm jack or 6.3 mm jack to connect an MP3 player, laptop, or DJ controller directly. The Aux channel allows for the flexible integration and control of various audio sources, such as DJ equipment, MP3 players, or Bluetooth streaming.

RCA / Stereo Input

The HK Audio 12 Polar features RCA jacks (red/white). Use these to connect devices like a DVD player or a mixing console.

XLR

For professional DJ equipment or mixing consoles, you can use XLR connections for optimal sound quality. The 3-band EQ allows for precise sound adjustment to suit your needs.

Tip: If you are renting a sound system, make sure your equipment package includes the necessary adapters and cables. You can save and recall custom settings for various applications—such as music, speech, or DJing—using the available presets and user presets.

4. Pairing a second HK column (01:26)

Using Mix-Out

On your first HK Audio Polar 12, you will find a Mix-Out output.

Connect this via an XLR cable to the Line-In (or "Mix In") of the second HK Audio Polar 12.

Adjusting levels

Adjust the overall volume and EQ settings on both columns so that they are harmoniously balanced.

Enhancing room sound

Pairing two columns is ideal for providing even sound coverage in larger rooms or open-air areas.

Tip: Experiment with the positioning of both columns to avoid reflections and achieve the best sound. Pairing multiple systems is the top choice for bands and performers, as it creates a flexible and powerful audio solution. Combining multiple systems achieves impressive sound pressure, sufficient even for demanding live events.

6. Connecting a microphone (02:11)

Wired or wireless microphone

• For a classic wired microphone, you will need an XLR cable.

For a wireless microphone (e.g., Tonor TW-630 or others), the receiver usually also consists of a jack plug.

Select input

• Plug the microphone or the receiver into an available Mic/Line input on the HK Audio Polar 12.

Ensure the correct Mic/Line setting (if available) is selected.

Adjust levels

• Start with the gain control set to low. Increase the volume step by step until your voice is clear and audible without feedback.

Tip: If you want to rent multiple microphones or connect different sources simultaneously, a small mixing console (DJ mixer) can be very helpful.
